First built in 1823, the original light was 70 ft tall. Due to erosion, it was rebuilt 1/3 mile inland but due to poor construction the present lighthouse was built in 1859. Contact: (609) 884-5404 www.capemaymac.org
Directions Follow the Garden State Parkway to the end where you make a right turn onto Rt. 109. Look for Rt. 9 south and take it for about 1/2 mile to a traffic light at Seashore Rd. Make a left and follow this for about 2 1/2 miles to Sunset Blvd. Make a right turn and follow for about 1 1/2 miles to Seagrove Avenue. Make a left and continue for 1 mile to Lighthouse Ave. where you make another left. Follow this to the lighthouse.
